Belt and Grading System at The School of Martial Arts
Grading Examinations
At The School of Martial Arts Hamilton, we hold two grading examinations each year at our Hamilton East Dojo—one mid-year and one at the end of the year. These exams give students the opportunity to progress in their martial arts journey, earn certificates, and be promoted to the next belt or belt tip.

Students are tested on their proficiency by our black belts in a formal, structured environment. Often, Master Reid Clark, the founder of Incorporated Martial Arts (IMA), attends to officiate and support students during their grading.
